Ice or Hot for the piriformis pain

ICE – they say to keep it for a maximum 10 minutes, I did so but after I take the ice from the buttock the pain will even get worse. This is in my case but might be working for you. I’ve read it helps reducing the inflammation but in the same time I found out it also can make the muscle contract even harder.
HOT – this is only temporary while I keep a hot watter bottle on the buttock area, same as for the ice the pain will get a lot worse after taking out the hot! Contradictory as the other method: brings blood in the area but makes the inflammation worse, while ice might reduce inflammation but contracts the muscle?!!
Might work for others, but for me it’s a total contradictory relief! If it is a good one for you, you’re lucky.
